Please Join Us in Welcoming San Rafael's Sun Valley Neighborhood Exchange

Hats off to Gayle Mills of San Rafael's Sun Valley neighborhood for launching another successful garden bounty exchange there at Sun Valley Park from 9 to 10 AM on Saturdays. The Marin Open Garden Project is proud to collaborate with the Sun Valley Neighborhood Association of San Rafael on the addition of a fifth exchange location in Marin. Gayle hosted exchanges the past two weekends and reported eggs, chard, seedlings and plums were in attendance along with a bunch of excited neighbors. She has already devised a wonderful system for handing off the exchange leader duties to others when necessary. Another successful exchange has sprouted!

  1. How exciting! I live in Sun Valley and would love to participate in this. Do I just show up @ Sun Valley Park next Saturday?

  2. After a summer of weekends away, my daughters and I finally got to visit the exchange today. Traded in our lettuce and basil for pears, a cantaloupe, lemon verbena (sipping yummy iced lemon tea as I type!), chard, a pepper and a sampling of grapes and strawberries. Really loved the community feel and saw the synapses firing in my girls' brains as they proudly saw the benefits of watering their plants every day! Thank you, thank you, thank you! We're telling all of our friends!
