Community Gardens in Marin: Ready . . . Set . . . Wait!

One of the most frequent questions I am asked is how one goes about getting a plot in a community garden in Marin. There are at least four formal community gardens in Marin:

Mill Valley (at the Community Center): 35 plots, $50 fee per year (Mill Valley residents), $60 fee per year (unincorporated Mill Valley residents) 46 people on the waiting list. Contact Stuart Kesler at s.kesler@cityofmillvalley.org or his assistant Lauren Buchholz at lbuchholz@cityofmillvalley.org or 415.383.1370.

Larkspur (at Piper Park): 70 plots, $53 fee per year, 1 1/2 year waiting list. Contact Stephen Connor or Dave Wilkinson at 415.927.6746.

San Anselmo (near the Robson House): 28 plots, $60 fee per year, 20 people on the waiting list. Contact Rico Villa at rico777villa@gmail.com.

Terra Linda Community Garden (at the Community Center): 66 plots, $65 fee per year full plot, $35 per year half plot, 60 people on the waiting list. Contact Dianne Mitchell at dianne.mitchell@ci.san-rafael.ca.us or 415.485.3344.

A community garden has been several years in the making in Novato. Read more about it here and contact Veronica Valero at novatolivewell@comcast.net at 415.897.2302.

Several people have already signed up with us to network with other gardeners to establish additional community gardens. Please let us know if you would like to join this growing network of people working together to increase the number of gardens in Marin.

Know of additional community gardens not listed here? Please post a comment below so we can add the garden to the list.
